Regional Land were approached by a landowner who had DA approval to undertake a rural residential development under the NSW legislation but was unable to proceed with the development due to the listing of a highly endangered plant community under the Commonwealth EPBC Act.

Together with HDB Planning Consultants we were able to facilitate ecological credits for the site and negotiate a sale as an environmental offset for a large Hunter based infrastructure project.

The resultant sale generated an economic return in excess of that envisaged by straight land development alone.
